About
Kevin Pollard
Born in 1963, Kevin overcame the circumstances of a difficult childhood through incredibly hard work and perseverance to become a dedicated leader, and a loving husband and father, ever willing and ready to listen and help others. He was a man of integrity and genuine warmth. He had a great love for his dachshund Maggie, guitars, cycling, cars, and jazz. He could always be counted on to remain calm in a crisis and was a great problem solver. He gave of himself unconditionally to others, without ever asking for or expecting anything in return.
Kevin served his country proudly as a soldier and had a variety of careers as a plumber, contractor, salesman, and general manager. He achieved professional success through sheer hard work and dedication. Despite his excellence, he was often denied a promotion because he lacked a university degree in spite of being otherwise very well qualified to do the job. Because of this, he ensured that his own two children were given the opportunity for higher education.
Kevin would be proud to know that Kiwanis is offering a scholarship in his name so that one less student needs to face the same limitation. And he would be proud of every one of the applicants for the same hard work and dedication that he always showed.
